Job Description
Description: Our State of Texas client has a contract available in Austin, TX. As part of HHSC EA initiatives, the worker will perform the following activities to accomplish the following goals: A. Develop and deliver high-resolution wire frames and interactive prototypes.
B. Participate in the development, documentation and compliance of agency UI (User Interface) standards and processes for both internal and external applications.
C. Participate in analyzing, designing and prototyping business requirements. (Full understanding of systems development lifecycle is required ? experience is a definite plus.)
D. Responsible for training and mentoring others on UI related methodology and tools.
E. Work directly with the technical manager, application architect, web/java developers, business users, et al, and should maintain level of professionalism with all parties.
F. Work on development of the screens when needed/as instructed.
G. Other duties as assigned.
WORKER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements:
Years Skills/Experience
5 Experience in designing and implementing best of breed Graphical User Interface in business-oriented applications.
5 Understanding of HTML/CSS and Web 2.0 principles
5 Experience in Human Factor Design.
4 Strong knowledge of user interface design processes and methodology, particularly as applied to Web-based applications
4 Experience in designing both Internet and Intranet Web applications.
3 Experience in Rich Internet Application UI design
3 Working knowledge of image manipulation/processing software (Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop/Fireworks/Dream Waver)
3 Strong visual design skills (layout, hierarchy, typography, color theory, patterns) and a fanatical attention to detail down to the pixel level.
2 A strong understanding of modern Web practices to create an efficient user-experience
2 A good understanding of cross-browser issues and their workarounds.
2 Knowledge of best practices in the areas of application design, performance, scalability and maintainability.
2 Understanding of some server side code is needed, such as Classic JSP, ASP
2 Ability to interact with others easily, present technical information in non-technical manner, and provide explanations, as needed, to both the
project team and possibly an end user

2 Experience in designing Website which is ADA compliant
2 Experience using DHTML or AJAX to enhance the user experience
1 Experience in Adobe Flex and Action Script.
1 Experience with Welfare Eligibility Business Concepts
Strong Familiarity or knowledge of Rational tools
Strong Highly organized, strong attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills
